Her first-hand account of the execution was published in Tribune newspapers across the country. In 2010, Shelly's coverage of the execution was featured once again in The Hartford Courant as one of the top 10 news stories of the decade. Her coverage of the Ross execution landed her a first-place award with The Associated Press.
More recently, Shelly has done vital media training for political candidates running for statewide office. She also has found a niche doing legal public relations for a few rising stars in Connecticut's legal community. Shelly, along with several firefighters, were featured on WTNH-TV, WFSB-TV, WVIT-TV, The Mary Jones Show on The Talk of Connecticut and in several newspapers including The Litchfield County Times, The Hartford Courant, The Republican American, The Torrington Register Citizen, The West Hartford News and The Granby Drummer.
